AL CRAFT: North AL Market Access for Sustainable, Organic & Specialty Growers (Huntsville)

Registration is closed for this event
Before ASAN's GRAZE event come learn about how to increase your access to markets for your farm products in North AL. Join as we continue the conversation on increasing market access for sustainable, specialty, and Organic producers on a regional level. In this free, in-person event at the Orion Amphitheatre in Huntsville on September 8th at 2:00pm, before Graze, you'll be able to pick the brains of community partners, service providers, and your fellow farmers. First, we'll have a panel that will include representatives from Rodale Institute, Alabama Farm to ECE, Georgia Organic's Farmer Champion Program, and NW Alabama Cooperative Extension. Then, we'll have small group discussions where you can hear from your fellow farmers what's worked for them (and hasn't) in reaching new markets for their farm products in North AL. Afterward, you're invited to stay for Graze at no cost and enjoy the fruits of North Alabama local sustainable Agriculture's labor. This workshop is for farmers and beginning farmers looking to expand sustainable farm business methods in their farming.

What is CRAFT?

CRAFT stands for Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training and is a model for on-farm peer-to-peer training and network-building for farmers. The original CRAFT network formed in upstate New York and has been replicated many times since, adapted to meet the needs of each particular place.

Alabama CRAFT includes farm owners/operators as well as farm interns, apprentices, and employees, and aspiring farmers. It builds on past efforts to build community and share knowledge – including but not limited to the Regional Alabama Farmer Socials, and ASAN’s kindling workdays and crop mobs and Skillshare Trainings. Full 2023 Schedule can be found at asanonline.org/CRAFT

Alabama CRAFT is supported through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP). TOPP is a program of the USDA Organic Transition Initiative and is administered by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) National Organic Program (NOP)
